Canvas Painting
Abstract, oversized, no rules

A body of abstract work driven by curiosity, instinct and a willingness to see what happens. Each piece evolves in real time through layering, texture and movement, with no fixed plan and no pressure to control the outcome.

What goes into it

The basics

An ongoing exploration of abstract painting across large-format canvases, materials and techniques.

Large-scale canvas work (typically ~68”)

Acrylic-based with occasional oil layering

Experimental tools and application methods

Texture-driven composition and movement

No-rules, process-led execution

“Start somewhere, mess it up, fix it, repeat. The good parts usually aren’t planned.”

How the work is made

Start Free

Each piece begins without a strict plan. Early layers are fast, messy and open, setting direction without locking anything in.

Build, Break, Mistake

Paint is added, removed, scraped and reworked. What stays is decided in the moment, not ahead of time. Unexpected moments aren’t corrected, they’re used. They often become the strongest parts of the piece.

Pushing Scale

Large canvases allow movement, space and impact. The work is meant to live in a room, not just on a wall.

Keep It Moving

Overthinking kills it. Momentum matters more than perfection, and knowing when to stop is part of the process.
